- I currently feel I am now behind the layout room prep. and can finally start some Model Railroading. I am currently installing risers and laying track on my south curve area. I also started doing some scenery on one area where I will have a propane dealer and a CSX resource building that will double as an AMschack. All is going slow, but it is going. I will be posting new pics. on anything that I accomplish, my new basement and all my work will be posted on the Status page. Thank you for finding my page, I hope you enjoy it...........
My layout area measures 9' x 25'. I am planning on having your basic loop with 30' radius curves. I will have a 4 track visible staging yard which I will scenic and try and work into my layout. I am currently working on an area that will have a propane dealer that will have a small structure as its office which will double as an AMSHACK, just to allow the occasional Amtrak car or two to appear on the layout. I also started work on an older Walthers kit, Wallys Wharehouse, adding an addition during construction for interest. My main industry will be a coal fired power plant, I will kitbash the one in the Feb. 2010 issue of Model Railroader. I am thinking of adding a short line that will service the plant from off layout coal mines and coal prep. plant. I am thinking the road name will be Alleghany Eastern, all fictitious of course. This will just add to the overall operations with loads in bound and empties out. I will have continuous running, but also I will have operations. I want the visitors to feel if they are spending a day railfanning. I recently joined the Western New York Trainmasters, an HO scale club with a modular layout. It has been great so far with a great bunch of modelers. Check out their web page linked to mine on the links page. Any suggestions please e-mail me...
Here are some of my latest pics of my new layout and some modeling photos. Please keep checking for new updates.....
